Simple Resume of mine

I believe that everyone ever do their own resume. This part is important for those who wanted to find a job. Sometimes the way you write your resume influences the reader or simply the interviewer to have a view on what is your aim/goal of a job, and strength they hoped have in you.

Basically things must be in your resume, first all information needs to be relevant to the position you are applying. Hobbies, interests etc. need to be left off. You would want to do a chronological resume this is the basic format:
  • Name
  • Contact Information
  • Title of position applying to (change with each position)
  • Skills Summary - at least three that support the position in the title
  • Education background - for someone in school this should go up at this level, if you have been in a career for some time, this would go on the bottom.
  • Employment history
  • Volunteer work/Education Societies

Don't Make These Common Job-Seeker Resume Mistakes: http://www.quintcareers.com/resume_mistakes.html

1. Resume lacks focus.

2. Resume is duties-driven instead of accomplishments-driven.

3. Resume items are listed in an order that doesn't consider the reader's interest.

4. Resume exposes the job-seeker to age discrimination by emphasizing older jobs in the job-seeker's job history.

5. Resume buries important job-relevent skills at the bottom.

6. Resume is not bulleted.

7. Resume uses a cookie-cutter design based on an overused resume template.

8. Resume lacks keywords.

9. References are listed directly on your resume.

10. Resume's appearance becomes skewed when sent as an e-mail attachment and/or resume is not available in other electronic formats.

Attached below is my simple resume that I used for years to find a job, it's quiet simple and you might have to add information that is not in here. For example your title position you're applying and your goal. It can be done before the PERSONAL DETAIL line. The references at least you state two persons, which is related to your previous employer or the university supervisor for their reference. And also the CO-CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES is better to list the level of achievement, in my resume I forgot to write it down. I think that's all is important.

Those who still in their studies, or it might their last semester and are going to find a job soon, you might use it for your reference. However, the most important of all is your time with interviewer. You need to be prepared enough with their questions. Do some revision about their company and, best of luck guys ;-)
